How to join the Airkooled Kustoms Krew

CURRENT AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Full-Time Mechanic

We’re looking for a responsible full-time mechanic to help us serve more clients.

  • Must have basic knowledge and experience in all facets of auto mechanics.
  • Must be patient, able to follow instruction, but also able to work autonomously.
  • Must have a love and passion for air-cooled Volkswagens and Porsches. If you’re “just looking for a paycheck” this is not the opportunity you’re looking for.
  • Must have a good temperament, attention to detail, good work ethic, sense of humor, integrity, and be okay with getting dirty.
  • Must be able to function well in a team environment.

Here’s some of what you’ll be doing in the shop:

  • General mechanical maintenance
  • Fabrication
  • Light welding
  • Heavy lifting (at times)
  • Ability to use drills, grinders, and air tools safely
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose and replace general parts and accessories
  • General shop cleaning

This is a close-knit shop (like family!) and it’s got to be a good fit for you and for us. We are a small shop with high-profile clients, so excellent attention to detail is an absolute must. We are building the vehicles our clients have been dreaming of for years (or remembering from long ago), and it’s GOT to be right.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, and you feel like you’re ready to endure the rigorous interview process, please follow the link below and fill out all required information. In the “Your Message” section, list all relevant experience, professional or otherwise, and why you would like to be considered for the position.

You may also email a resume, if you have one, to geoff@airkooledkustoms.com. Type “Full-Time Mechanic” in the subject line of your email, and in the body of your email, type a brief introduction of yourself and why you would like to be considered for the position.

We wish you the best of luck.

  • Must have good temperament, attention to detail, good work ethic, sense of humor, integrity, and be okay with getting dirty.
  • Must be able to function well in a team environment.
  • Must know how to sew and cut a straight line and be comfortable learning how to use an industrial sewing machine.
